AN OVERVIEW: The 12 Dimensions of Human Health & Wellness MODEL OF CARE
The 12 Dimensions model of care functions in several ways. First, it allows us to look deeply into all the areas that comprise one’s life that may be causing dysregulation. Often, we think we are looking at a “substance abuse issue” or “a mental health problem,” but looking deeper, we can see that a person is in dysregulation. Dysregulation can look like many things- an obvious outward extreme state of stress, chronic pain, insomnia, or subtle, difficult-to-articulate feelings of dread and crawling anxiety. Dysregulation can caused by unresolved or unhealthy factors in your life, environment, or past traumas that can manifest in substance abuse or mental health struggles.

The 12 Dimensions model of care allows us to tailor our resources to your needs. As you go through the process of recovery, a lot of things come up and we want to have a structure that allows us to adapt to different conditions as they arise. Breakups, falling in love, getting a job, losing a job, financial problems, financial success, health problems, and medication changes may impact your treatment needs. These dimensions of human health and wellness are consistent across the lives of each person and are a direct reflection of their quality of life.

The key life areas we assess are: substance use and medications, education, finances, career, legal (criminal and civil), family, romantic relationships, purpose, connection to community and friendships, housing and living situation, medical and physical health, spirituality and religion, mental health and emotional regulation, and nutrition and fitness.

The ideology of this interplay--that all aspects of one’s life are interconnected and contribute to health and well-being has long been established. But we don’t just acknowledge this ideology- we created and implemented this proprietary system to leverage the power of this knowledge through the use of a client advocate, highly specialized multidisciplinary team support, and the medicinal benefits of community.

Successful recovery outcomes are significantly improved by two vital things: attunement and connection. These are the fundamental aspects that underlie the 12 Dimensions of Human Health and Wellness model of care. The 12 Dimensions model allows us to engage with you as a complex, dimensional human being. We can look beyond surface-level symptoms to see the full picture and address the root of what is causing your insomnia, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, etc. Underlying issues can cross-pollinate causing destabilization in other areas. Treating the symptoms with medications (while often also necessary) or surface-level therapy is merely a band-aid. We are invested in much more than helping you achieve sobriety, we are invested in helping you transform your life.

We are proud to have developed our Red Door Life12 Dimensions of Human Health & Wellness model of care to help so many special people not just achieve sobriety but to discover their potential and transform their lives.

MAXIMIZED TREATMENT TEAM EFFICACY

In addition to a comprehensive view of all the facets that comprise one's existence, the 12 Dimensions of Human Health and Wellness model of care allows complex information to be shared in real time amongst all professionals working with a client. This allows all members of the treatment team to have up-to-date accurate information going into sessions. Status updates, relevant information, and adjustments to medications, methodology, and treatment are made in real-time, strengthening our ability to truly understand our clients, amplifying the efficacy of the multidisciplinary team, and leveraging the power of collective learning. The model is implemented daily and adjusted in real time so your team can provide immediate support without the confusion, conflict, disconnect, and destabilization that are characteristic of the mainstream treatment model.

The Red Door Life 12 Dimensions model of care allows for profound deeper healing through attunement, connection, and support.
How does it work?

At Red Door Life, we use a multidimensional, attachment-based, trauma-informed approach that is individualized to each client. This means using many lenses to discover the true roots of suffering and incorporating many modalities based on what is discovered.

CLIENT ADVOCATE & ASSESSMENT THROUGH A MULTIDIMENSIONAL LENS
You are first partnered with a Client Advocate. Your Client Advocate is your partner walking with you on your journey of recovery. This supportive bond remains whether you are in residential treatment or not. Your Client Advocate will help you assess and set goals across the 12 Dimensions of Human Health and Wellness.

BUILDING YOUR CUSTOMIZED TREATMENT TEAM
Based on what we discover through the lens of the 12 Dimensions, we build a treatment plan and an individualized multidisciplinary team around you. This team may include your existing therapists and clinicians as well as those integrated from our community of leading-edge clinicians, medical doctors, and facilitators. We collaborate with you to determine areas you need support and which modalities would be most beneficial.

BUILDING YOUR CUSTOMIZED TREATMENT PLAN
You, your client advocate, and your multidisciplinary team set goals and agree on steps to take. This may include building the right type of support to help address things that are presently the highest priority- issues that are the most triggering such as trauma or family issues. Each week will be scheduled with individual and group sessions, holistic wellness modalities, and entertainment activities tailored to your current needs. Your Client Advocate will provide you with your individualized schedule of services and keep the other clinicians and professionals on your team informed.

FEEDBACK & ADJUSTING
Your Client Advocate helps you evaluate and adjust this schedule each week based on your needs and feedback. If you cannot achieve the goals, we reassess and break the goals down into smaller steps or add more support and try again! We continue this process until you begin making progress.

HOLISTIC CARE
In addition to chef-prepared meals, 24/7 support & care, we incorporate a whole broad spectrum of healing tailored to your preferences such as massage, personal training, bodywork, reiki, and sound healing. We also help you re-discover the world in a safe sober environment through group activities such as hikes, surfing, and outings to fun events like comedy shows.
CONNECTION
In addition to 1-1 sessions with members of your treatment team, we integrate you into the community and leverage the healing power of topical groups, both in person and online. Feeling supported and surrounded by safe peers and community is critical in healing- in learning nervous system regulation and undoing the aloneness that comes with trauma, substance abuse, and many of life's struggles. This is our core value of CONNECTION CULTURE in action.

Purpose
Finding meaning in our struggles and learning the special abilities and goals we may have as a result of our difficult or unusual lives is powerful to the healing journey. We offer entrepreneurship mentorship to help you develop and build your vision of your brightest life. Entrepreneurship in early recovery is fragile, nuanced, and needs a special type of support. Purpose is a powerful driver in helping positive recovery outcomes. Many incredible initiatives, ventures, and companies have been created by our members!
EXTENDED CARE- INTEGRATION & ONGOING SUPPORT
Once a client leaves residential treatment here at Red Door Life, as part of our attachment-focused core values, the connection remains. Disconnection is the number one issue that inhibits recovery and worsens relapse. You maintain your Client Advocate and any parts of your treatment team that are benefitting you. We come up with a plan for transition including IOP. etc etc. ADD CONTENT
