Red Door Life is recovery reimagined.

We partner with you on your journey of recovery and help you evaluate all the areas of your life that contribute to your foundational wellness. We then help you build a customized multidisciplinary team of wrap-around support to transform all the areas of your life that need compassion, attention, and support.  As your life changes, we adjust, as our support is truly attuned to each individualized journey. We provide support and services for all the nuanced aspects of recovery because recovery is not time spent in a treatment center- it must be integrated into life, as recovery is a lifestyle- a continuum. Through our warm culture of community that extends far beyond our treatment center, our innovative leading-edge modalities, and individualized care we help you transform from a life of suffering to a life of happiness, purpose, and fulfillment.

We advance mainstream ineffective models of care based on decades of experience, the latest evidence-based scientific research, advancements in technology & healing modalities, and our team’s expertise in trauma, mental health, substance abuse, and entrepreneurship.

We are changing the mainstream conversation from that of sobriety and taking it further- to life transformation.

Whether you are seeking detox, residential care, outpatient care, have specialized circumstances needing a higher level of care, or want to improve your emotional well-being and resilience through a customized immersive, Red Door Life provides the guidance and resources to do so in a safe, healing, and compassionate environment.

After decades of observing what goes wrong in traditional models of care, we are changing the conversation about treatment and recovery. We continually seek to improve recovery outcomes beginning with our unique philosophy of looking holistically Through The Eyes of Love. This philosophy reflects our deep compassion for those who are struggling and our wholehearted belief in the goldmine of human potential that lies within each unique human being. With the right support, lives are transformed and we are honored to witness this with our clients.

We view all aspects of You, Your Life, and Recovery through this compassionate philosophy.

OUR PHILOSOPHY:
THROUGH THE EYES OF LOVE

 YOU & Your life

Life is a precious gift. You are a remarkable person here celebrating your life with us, and we are honored to support you in doing the deeper work to transform your life. As each person is unique, we honor that by providing individualized care. We believe you are a dimensional human being, not a bundle of maladies. If you look beneath the surface of a person who is struggling in their life—beyond their symptoms— you will see areas of their life that are causing dysregulation.

Dysregulation causes emotional pain that can lead to substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and many other behaviors often misrepresented as mental illness. We view your symptoms as clues to the underlying issues that need addressing rather than signs of disease or defect. We meet you where you’re at and help evaluate and address all of the aspects of your life that might be causing dysregulation.

Through applying the tenets of Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry and Dr. Richard Schwartz’s brilliant system of understanding and managing our inner worlds, Internal Family Systems (IFS), we view each member of our community compassionately and realistically. We understand within everyone there is a core self, and then parts of this self-energy that form maladaptive aspects of our personality through trauma or the stressors of life. This creates an ethos of non-judgment, understanding, and unconditional love and support.

With the holistic support we provide, we help our members mitigate the negative effects of the past, evolve out of their self-destructive behaviors, and extract the gold from their unique stories to build a fulfilling life.

ATTACHMENT-BASED, TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE

Attachment-based & trauma-informed care is foundational to all that we do at Red Door Life. We are one of the few attachment-based models in our field. Attachment-focused treatment acknowledges the important role of the way we were both supported in our development and bonded with during childhood. This initial experience in the world shapes our lives, our relationships, and even our very experience of being in each moment.

Attachment wounds are often at the root of substance abuse and complex trauma. They underlie our ability to regulate our nervous systems, to express ourselves authentically, to have and hold positive feelings about ourselves and our potential, and to build safe, stable fulfilling lives.

WHAT DOES ATTACHMENT-BASED CARE LOOK LIKE? <BETTER TITLE?>

1. We understand that people do not act out or abuse substances because they are bad, they do it because they are in pain and need support. We maintain compassion, nonjudgment, and unwavering, expert support no matter what you are going through.

2.  We integrate your prior existing clinicians and loved ones in the treatment process to maintain and build on established supportive relationships. Based on your individual needs and goals, we incorporate your existing clinicians and create a custom, multidisciplinary treatment team with our network of phenomenal doctors, therapists, and specialists all doing leading-edge, innovative work. You are not cut off from your support when you transition from inpatient care back to your life. Instead, as you transition from inpatient treatment, we support the next phase of your recovery by keeping you connected to your client advocate, treatment team, and our community.

3. Recovery paths are complex, and we employ a Harm Reduction Model when necessary. Our attachment-based treatment style means we do not expel or punish those experiencing a setback in their sobriety. We implement measures to maintain safety and support during relapse—emphasizing unconditional love and connection—to maintain the bond, keep you safe, and help you get back on the path to recovery. We are an abstinence program wrapped inside a harm-reduction model.

Safe secure relationships help us heal. We regain the innate ability to reach for support and co-regulate through stable attachment. Secure attachment is the foundation of wellness and the ability to flourish. We believe in collaborating with you to create a vast base of safe, secure attachments including cultivation of a peer-support community and long-term community engagement as part of the recovery process.

Unlike ineffective mainstream treatment models, our attachment-based, trauma-informed model of care lessens the risk of triggering existing wounds or creating new ones.

THe recovery CONTINUUM

We view recovery as a continuum- a lifestyle that must be continually cultivated and integrated. It must change to meet your needs as stressors come up in your life and also as you evolve. Recovery is not a discreet unit of time as often pitched by other treatment facilities as 30, 60, or 90-day packages. It can take the brain a year or longer for executive function to heal from substance abuse and/or trauma. We provide support for all phases of your healing as you build towards a life of self-sustainable flourishing.

We believe a dimensional approach is imperative, and it cannot be a one-size-fits-all solution. As a result, we have developed a proprietary model of care: The 12 Dimensions of Human Health and Wellness. This holistic view of the interconnected aspects of your life helps us understand you better. As your life changes and you reach different phases in your recovery, you and your team can make real-time adjustments throughout the continuum- which is critical to a successful, sustainable outcome.

At other treatment centers, you are on your own when you leave. This is when the hard work of recovery really takes place, and we are with you. You take your client advocate as well as your whole treatment team with you, and you are a welcome part of our community for life. Through our robust schedule of online groups, client advocate check-ins, sober companion services, and support of the full community... we keep you connected to safety.

At Red Door Life, we customize treatment to your needs and your lifestyle and we adjust as your needs change. We meet you where you are, and as that changes, we stay with you in whatever way works best to keep you safe and heading toward your goals.
